Mandy Beaumont is a writer and artist. As a writer, Mandy has been published widely and has been invited to perform at events all over country. Mandy is also well known for her art and collaborative approaches to making art with other artists.

Mandy was the first poet to be awarded a mentorship as part of the Arts Queensland Youth Arts Mentoring Program and was short-listed for both the 2006 Val Vallis Award for Poetry and the NSW Writers Centre Best Independently published poetry book 2005.

 

 

She performs her work all around Australia and manages, and is the editor for, numerous festivals, events, books and projects. Mandy has been on the bill with some of the world's top performers and writers including, Dave Graney, Luke Davies (Candy), Anthony Lawrence, Samuel Wagan Watson, Ian McBride, Steve Kilbey (The Church) Chris Bailey (The Saints), The Red Paintings, Linda Jaivin and Jimmy Styles and the Easy Company.

 

 

 

From 2005 till 2007 Mandy was one of the managers of the Queensland Poetry Festival and also ran the Poetry Sprints for the Brisbane Writers Festival. Mandy is also the Director of Queensland’s biggest Poetry/Music/Arts event – Poetry After Dark.
